Versailles for The National Gallery of Australia
Third Drawer Down were thrilled to collaborate with the National Gallery of Australia on their collection for Versailles: Treasures from the Palace. An exhibition highlighting a mesmerising period of French history, the exhibition saw more than 130 paintings, intricate tapestries, furniture, sculptures and objects from the royal gardens travel from France to Australia. The collection was a combination of artwork directly from the exhibition and commissioned work to highlight the period, especially Marie Antoinette.
The National Gallery of Australia (NGA), located in Canberra, is the Commonwealth of Australia's national cultural institution for the visual arts and is part of the Ministry of the Arts within the Communications and the Arts portfolio.
