Paul Gauguin - 2011, Retrospective, at Tate Modern
The brief
A comprehensive product range for the Tate show, that included accessories, homewares and children's products. Products included, market bag with hand stitched leather detailing, cushion with bobble trimming, mug, (featuring a detail of Gauguin’s 1898 Faa Iheihe painting), tea for one set, ceramic tiles, wooden stamp set, embroidered tea towel, metal tray, book bag and pin cushion that utilizes the scrap fabric from all products within the textile range.
The artist
Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin was a French post-Impressionist artist. Not fully recognized for his talent until after his death, Gauguin is now known for his experimental use of colour and varied style that were distinctly different from traditional Impressionism.
