San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, 2016 Relaunch.
The SFMOMA transformation involved years of planning and construction, as well as a complete visual identity overhaul. Third Drawer Down Studio were privileged to be involved in the new product strategy, designing a range of functional art products from leading artists Jeff Koons and Roy Lichtenstein.
Roy Lichtenstein was an American Pop artist. He was one of the first to become renowned in this style, and to stir up further thought and often criticism on it. He is best known for his Pop work, a style he arrived at in 1961 inspired by comic strips. His bold, iconic images have since become synonymous with Pop art, and his method of creating high-impact images, which blended aspects of mechanical reproduction and drawing by hand, has become key in learning and understanding the movement.
