The brief
Third Drawer Down Studio was asked by MCA Chicago to collaborate on two collectable pieces for the much talked about exhibition of Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. With a brief to adapt a large scale work from the exhibition to a luxury scarf, both to be worn or hung as a work on it's own, the studio worked with cashmere and are thrilled with the finished product - beautifully gift packaged and sitting alongside a gorgeous pocket mirror. 

The artist
Known for his collaborations with pop icon Kanye West and fashion house Louis Vuitton, and for vibrant anime-inspired characters, Japanese artist Takashi Murakami (b. 1962) has blurred the boundaries throughout his career between high and low culture, ancient and modern, East and West.
